The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Association in Indonesia is holding the 2019 National Gita Jayanti celebration which is the 5th celebration held in Indonesia. Gita Jayanti is a celebration of the descent of the Bhagavad-gita holy book and this year the peak was held at Wantilan Pura Samuan Tiga, Gianyar, Bali, Saturday (12/14/2019) night.
The purpose of holding the National Gita Jayanti echoes the Bhagavad-gita holy library to the wider community. In the 2019 GJN series, a Gita Marathon was also held to support the spread of Bhagavad-gita throughout Indonesia simultaneously for two months, from November to December. During these two months, around 7,000 Bhagavad-gita books were distributed. He even mentioned, many of the world leaders who have read and received inspiration from Bhagavad-gita, such as Albert Einstein, J Robert Oppenheimer, Mahatma Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, Albert Schweitzer, Hermann Hesse, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Prabhupada, even the first president Republic of Indonesia Ir. In addition to the distribution of spiritual literature, in a series of GJN activities a variety of activities have also been carried out, including Gita Education, Gita Camp, Gita Action in the form of Bhagavadgita distribution, social services, blood donations and free health checks, Gita Puja together in places of worship. , and Gita Marathon in the form of a traveling bazaar to distribute Bhagavad-gita. "The aim of holding the 2019 GJN activities is to introduce the universal values of Bhagavad-gita to the wider community, to deepen the understanding of Bhagavad-gita in order to realize unity, peace and prosperity," Ardana said.
